Breaking Up is Hard to Do...Why Can’t I Just Move On??

I know I am dating myself here with a Neil Sedaka song, but I thought it was fitting for this topic.  You don't need to go download the song on iTunes or wherever, unless you really want to.  But be warned, next thing you know you'll be listening to all of his tunes, singing them in the car, or while you're working out in the gym!!  Very catchy tunes!  😱  (Yeah that's him over there! ) Read More...

"Saying No"-- Changing A Societal Norm

I am not proclaiming to be an expert on sexual assault or rape, nor do I specialize in it in my practice.  But from time to time I do see clients who have been the victim of rape.  It incenses me and frightens me every time I hear about it.  I see how scared and embarrassed and helpless they are and just imagine this happening to my daughter.  I don't know what I would do if this happened to her, but as a professional to my clients, I want justice for them. Is it Getting Better, or Do You Feel the Same?

It has been three years since my father passed away and it feels like it was yesterday...but also a lifetime ago at the same time.  I have said that I live in an alternate universe since he's been gone; nothing is the same, nothing will ever be the same.  Read More...

Oh the nerves, the nerves; the mysteries of this machine called man!  Oh the little that unhinges it, poor creatures that we are!" ~Charles Dickens

I-I Me-Me Mine...The Case for Being "Selfish"

"I-I Me-Me Mine" by The Beatles was written by George Harrison.  It was said that he wrote the song as a commentary on the selfishness of bandmates John Lennon and Paul McCartney.  They were in the middle of recording songs for the Let It Be documentary film.  George felt they had better things to do then learn the arrangement for this song, and appeared indifferent to recording it that struck him as "sheer egotism".  I guess it wasn't much of a surprise when the band broke up soon afterwards!!
